Duplicate Items/Clone Pokemon
Note: Use this code at your own risk. It may corrupt your save data if done incorrectly.
Go to a PC, and save. Attach the item you want to duplicate to the Pokemon you want to clone. Deposit it into the PC. Change boxes. When the screen is saying “Saving the game…” Turn off your GB. Turn it back on. You should have the deposited Pokemon in the PC, and a clone of it in your lineup. The item will either be on both monsters, or in your Backpack. Note: while doing this code, DO NOT withdraw any Pokemon. When the GB is turned back on, you’ll find that the withdrawn Pokemon has been deleted. Note: You can duplicate up to 5 items/Pokemon at a time.

Breed two Pikachus to get Pichu.
Breed two Electabuzzes and you get Elekid.
Breed two Clefairies and you get Cleffa.

Red Version:
Glitch: Only Way To Get Mew
Apparently, catching a Mew is no longer bee-ess. This glitch has been verified by IGN Pokemon Board Mods, so you know.
Restart your game and play until you get HM02 Fly from the house west of Celadon City (or just beat the third gym and get the badge that lets you use fly out of battle and trade pokemon that know fly to the new game).
# IMPORTANT!!: DO NOT fight the following trainers: The Youngster with a Slowpoke (level 17) on the road to Bill’s house(Route 25). He is the fourth trainer after you cross Nugget Bridge, standing directly above a female trainer and facing north.
# The Gambler with two poliwags and a poliwhirl (all level 22) between Lavender Town and Saffron City (Route 8). He is standing just east of the entrance to Saffron City, facing north toward the door of the Underground Path. Care fully follow the series of steps illustrated below…
Make sure you have a pokemon that knows FLY. Make sure you have a level 5 or 6 pokemon and a pokemon that knows SLEEP on your team. Stock up with pokeballs (Great Balls work the best). Now Save your game before you enter Route 8 since saving after this point will disrupt the procedure.
On Route 8, stand in front of the door of the Underground Path (don’t let the gambler see you or you will need to restart where you last saved). Walk down one step and IMMEDIATELY press start. If you succeed, the menu will pop up before the Gambler “sees” you. Go to the Pokemon list and fly to Cerulean City. The Gambler will see you just before you fly away. Your Start button will no longer function. Go north across Nugget Bridge and head east until you find the Youngster described above.
If you walk right up to the Youngster, the game will lock up, so you’ll have to let him see you and walk up to you. Defeat his Slowpoke(afterwards your start button will work again), then fly to Lavender Town. Head west into Route 8. As soon as you enter the narrow path, the menu will pop up by itself. Press B to exit. . . and a wild Mew should appear. Mew will be at Level 7 and its only attack will be Pound. Get’em! Once you’ve caught Mew, you can save without any ill effects!
NOTE: I did this on my red game and I assume it works on the others (the Pokemon Board Mods say ‘Yes’). It is well worth testing it because it is fairly easy to do but it is a little time consuming.
Submitted by Megod
Yesterday, I tried this, and it worked. Mew is in the games Pokemon Red and Blue. I do not know if it is in Yellow however. To get it, you start a new game and do not fight the trainer facing the underground tunnel just past Lavender Town (I think it is route and also do not fight the trainer with a Slowpoke who says that his dad bought him a ticket to the SS Anne or something along those lines. Anyway, you play through the game past the 3rd gym leader and rock tunnel, then walk up to the door in front of the trainer on route 8. Do not let him see you face the trainer. Walk down and practically at the same time press START. You will have had to do a bit of trading from an old game so that you do not have to go through the entire adventure). Fly to Cerulean City and go past Nugget Bridge and beat the trainer with the slowpoke and then immediately fly back to Lavender Town. Enter the entrance to Route 8 and your pause menu pops up. Press B to return to the game and Mew appears. It is at level 7 and only knows the attack Pound.
It turns out that when Nintendo made the game and programmed each pokemon into the game, Slowpoke and Mew each had the same coding at the beginning of their names. Also, when you flew away from Route 8 before the trainer had a chance to fight you, this tricks the game into thinking there should be a fight going on in Route 8. By entering that area, this triggers this fight but with Mew because you flew off before it occured. The opponent is surprisingly strong though. Try to put him to sleep and throw Great Balls. I did this trick only last night for the first time, and it surprised me when it worked when I actually didn’t think it would. Many thanks.

Unlockable: Red
You must get all 151 Pokemon and go and see Professor Oak in his lab. At that point he will then give you the diploma.
Get Surfing Pikachu
Did you know that you can get a Pikachu that knows the Water technique Surf? Here’s how you can get it (outside of winning a Nintendo Pokemon contest):
Surfing Pikachu is hidden in Pokémon Stadium for the Nintendo 64. To teach your Pikachu Surf (a technique it can normally not learn), you need to first unlock the R-2 (Round 2) mode. Then do the following:
* Enter the R-2 Prime Cup’s Master Ball division (you have to beat the first three divisions first).
* Assemble a team that contains a Pikachu that does not yet know Surf. You HAVE to use a Pikachu from your Game Boy game. You cannot unlock Surfing Pikachu using a Rental Pokémon.
Do not register your team! Pick it directly from your Game Boy cartridge.
* You now have to beat the Prime Cup’s Master Ball division using a three-Pokémon team that always contains Pikachu. Pikachu has to be in every one of the eight battles.
* You are not allowed to use any continues. If you do, you won’t get Surfing Pikachu.
Once you have fulfilled all the above conditions, you are shown an award screen with Pikachu standing on a surfboard. From here on, Pikachu can use the Surf technique both in battle and during gameplay (Game Boy versions only). In Pokémon Yellow, you can now also access the hidden Surfing Pikachu mini-game on Route 19.
There is also a GameShark code that lets you access Surfing Pikachu, but we advise against using it, since it can mess up your Pokédex and save data. It’s not worth the trouble.

Level 100+ Pokemon
Follow these instructions to catch pokemon with really high levels.
1. Talk to the old man in Viridian City who shows you how to catch pokemon.
2. Fly directly to Cinnabar Island.
3. Put your strongest pokemon on your team.
4. You might want to save now.
5. Surf on the shore where the land touches water.
6. Keep Surfing until you run into one of these strong pokemon.
These pokemon are well above level 100. Unfortunately, they will revert back to Level 100 if they gain any experience points. Rare Candy is the only thing that raises their level. They can be used in a two-player battle without losing their level, so have fun liquidating your friends!
NOTE: This is a bug in the game. It will not work in newer versions of Pokemon and may crash your game if you try it.
Invisible Walls in Koga’s Gym
If you look at the floors in Koga’s Gym you will notice it has lines. In some spots you will see little gaps in the lines. These “gapped lines” are the invisible walls.

Get MissingNo.
Warning! Catch missingno in the red version may delete your old game and prevent you from saving any other games.
To get MissingNo (a glitch) go to Cinnabar Island and go into the Pokémon Research Labratory and trade with anyone in the first room. Then leave the Lab and go to the EAST of Cinnabar Island and surf up and down on the part where the land meets the water. Eventually the battle screen will come up and the screen goes black for about 5 seconds.
Once you find him I suggest you use a Level 30 to 40 Pokemon. This is because Missing No., even at Lv. 80, has a VERY low defense rating. So get him down pretty low. Even at low he is still extremely difficult to catch. So next get a Pokemon that knows a sleep move and put him to sleep. Follow this up with a couple Ultra Balls and you should have him.
NOTE: Catching MissingNo. may cause minor glitches. Also note that if he evolves (i.e., by receiving a Rare Candy) he will turn into a Khangiskahn.

Get Amnesia Psyduck
Have you ever wondered how you can get the elusive Amnesia technique? Well, it’s hidden deep in Pokemon Stadium for the Nintendo 64. Unlocking it will take a while, but it’s definitely worth it. You have to register ALL 151 Pokemon in the Hall of Fame. Whenever you beat a tournament (or Gym Leader Castle), your six Pokemon are entered into the Hall of Fame. It doesn’t matter whether you use rental Pokemon or your own, but you can’t have any gaps. Once you’ve filled it all up, you are awarded a free Psyduck bonus Pokemon that knows the Amnesia technique. You can now upload it to your Game Boy pak and use it in your quest.

Fight Land Creatures in Water
To fight creatures that normally live on land in water, go to the water around Cinnabar Island or Seafoam Islands (The only place you can be randomly attacked while swimming.) Swim along the shore of any island and you will fight land creatures. (You have to swim on a place where the square is half land and half water.)
Instead of fighting a set group of monsters in the water, you actually fight monsters from the last place you were. So to get safari zone monsters, you need to go to the section of the safari zone with that monster, let your time run out, then go to the coast. Using this trick I have caught Kangaskhan, Scyther, and Tauros!

Clone Pokemon
Note: This trick requires a nother Game Boy, link cable and Pokemon game.
Trade the Pokemon to be cloned, and have the other player select a Pokemon that he or she does not care about. Trade them, and make sure the player receiving the bad Pokemon can see the other player’s screen. When the Game Boy that receives the good Pokemon’s displays “Waiting”, get ready to shut the other Game Boy off. When the “Waiting” message disappears, turn off the Game Boy that is receiving the bad Pokemon. When the “Trade completed” message appears, turn off the remaining Game Boy. Both games will have the same good Pokemon when they are turned back on.
Note: Do not attempt this trick with any saved games you wish to keep, as it can corrupt those files if done incorrectly.

Celadon City Slot Tip
All of the slot machines have different odds, which change every time. Play each machine 4 times, and if it hits 2 or more, then stick with that one, because it’s probably hot.
If the slow machine forces you really close to a 777 or Bar Bar Bar it will probably give you one or the other soon.

Duplicate Items
To get 99 of any item, first put the item you want to multiply in the sixth item slot. Now use FLY and go to Viridian City. Talk to the old man almost all the way north of the town. When he asks if you are in a hurry, say no and watch him catch a weedle.
Right after that, fly to Fuchsia city. Make your way south and, when you you reach the water’s edge, use SURF and make your way to Seafoam island.
When you get to seafoam island, swim up and down the beach until you run into a Pokemon called “M” (Missingno.) Once you see him, kill him or run away. DO NOT CATCH HIM! After that, you should have multiple copies of your sixth item!

Only Way to Get Mew
We’ve seen so many fake Mew codes pop up on the web (and we get about 20 new fake Mew code submissions A DAY) that we’ve decided to add this following disclaimer to our codes section:
According to Nintendo, Mew cannot be found or caught in Pokemon Yellow, Red, or Blue. Outside of a GameShark code (which may mess up your Pokedex and render the game incompatible with Pokemon Stadium), the #151st Pokemon remains a cool litte extra that is only handed out by Nintendo on special occasions, such as Mall Tours or Pokemon events.
However, all those who want to catch a glimpse of the rare Pokemon can select Mew as a rental Pokemon in Pokemon Stadium for Nintendo 64 (but you cannot upload it to your Game Boy game). Note that Mew is just that — a bonus Pokemon (albeit a very cool one that can learn all TMs) — and not technically required to complete your Pokedex.

Cheat: Getting Mew Glitch
This is a glitch. Mew has not been meant to be obtained in this manner, so if you use this trick, proceed at your own risk.
Do not fight the gambler facing the house in between Lavender Town and Saffron City. Go to the door of the house and save your game. (You cannot save your game once you have started this or else it will undo the glitch that will give you Mew.) Step towards the gambler and immediatly press start. If done correctly you will bring up the start menu before the gambler sees you. Go to your flying pokemon and fly to Cerulean City. The gambler will then see you but you will fly away. (Your Start, A, and B buttons will not work during this point.) Walk up Nugget Bridge and then go to the 5th trainer after Nugget Bridge. (He will be facing up.) He is a youngster with a slowpoke. Defeat his slowpoke, and then your Start, A, and B buttons will function again. Fly back to Lavender Town and walk towards Saffron City. Your menu should pop up by itself. Hit B to exit it, and then you will enter a battle with a Mew, where you can try to capture it.

Work yourself through the dungeon until you’re on the bottom floor. You will see Mewtwo. Use your Master Ball to catch it.

You may be much better off just trading a Pikachu caught in Red/Blue and evolving that one.

Hint: Climb Trees
This isn’t a useful trick in any way but it doesn’t mess up your game and works on all versions.

Yesterday, I tried this, and it worked. Mew is in the games Pokemon Red and Blue. I do not know if it is in Yellow however. To get it, you start a new game and do not fight the trainer facing the underground tunnel just past Lavender Town (I think it is route
and also do not fight the trainer with a Slowpoke who says that his dad bought him a ticket to the SS Anne or something along those lines.

* Brock: Use water or grass Pokemon against this rock trainer.
* Misty: Use grass pokemon or electric to defeat this gym leader.
* Leiutenant Surge: use a rock or ground pokemon and he’s toast.
* Erika: Use fire pokemon or flight against this plant lover and shatter her dreams of fighting you again.
* Sabrina: Use bug or ghost against this psychomaniac and she is a goner.
* Koga: This poison pokemon lover will be deafeted easily by using psy pokemon.
* Blaine: This fire trainer will use fire pokemon against you so you can use water or ice.
* Final boss: Giovanni, the team rocket leader, is the final gym leader – use water, ice, plant and he’s out of there (and talk to him again and he says something to you).

Then talk to the old guy in Viridian who shows you how to catch Pokemon and answer “no” and FLY to Cinnibar (or trade w/ a trader on the island). SURF up and down just off of the right (opposit of left, not wrong) side of the island until you find a MISSINGNO or an M-BLOCK. DO NOT CATCH THEM!!! Just RUN instead. Then check your items. The 6th slot will say x(glitch)9. (after the first 2 glitches, just keep using that item. It will go down to x0, then down to x99.)

If you are stumped on where to get the “Surf” HM, Here’s what you do. It’s in Area 3 of the Safari Zone. You will have to get there fast as well. (I used a bike, I suggest you use it if you have it.) If you get into the secret hideaway in area 3, the man will give you the “Surf” HM. The gold teeth item is also in Area 3. Hint: Get Surfing Pikachu
Did you ever notice the small house at the northern beach of Route 19 that wasn’t in Pokémon Blue and Red? This hut is home to the infamous “Surfing Pikachu” mini-game. Hint: Get Mewtwo
You can only get Mewtwo after you have beaten the game. First go to Cerulean City and go past the five trainers. Take a left and you are in a grassy area. Then continue down the water (you need Surf to get in the water) until you see land. Get on that land and enter the dungeon (if you haven’t finished the game, a guy will be blocking the entrance). Work yourself through the dungeon until you’re on the bottom floor. You will see Mewtwo. Use your Master Ball to catch it.

To get Raichu, trade the Pikachu you started with to a Red/Blue version after It gets to be about Lv. 50-60. Then use a Thunderstone on the Pikachu you traded. After it evolves, trade it back to Pokemon Yellow. Now you will have Raichu. Be careful, though. Pikachu will no longer follow you around if you do this. You may be much better off just trading a Pikachu caught in Red/Blue and evolving that one.

Hint: Climb Trees
This isn’t a useful trick in any way but it doesn’t mess up your game and works on all versions.
