Pokemon Crystal Cheats

Ive used to pokemon cloning cheat for a long time. I was bored so i picked up my gameboy color (yes, the actual gameboy color) and started playing again..but when i tried the cloning cheat, it wont work anymore! im using the same game on the same system, so why wont it work?!?

im looking for cheats for the emulator kigb becouse it dosent work with the codes i put on when i exit and load it again it delets the chats or somthing it weird and i need to know how to do it plz answer and help
